Indxis history traces to 1979, when Moody’s began identifying companies that had increased their annual dividend payments for ten or more consecutive years. Four years later, Moody’s created the first Handbook of Dividend Achievers™, in recognition of the strong long-term performance of dividend paying companies. In 1998, Mergent, Inc. acquired Moody’s Investor Service and rebranded the handbooks under the Mergent name. In 2004, Mergent launched the first investment index based on the Dividend Achievers™ methodology. In just four years,  investment products based on the Dividend Achievers™ methodology have grown to in excess of $11 billion in assets under management.

Just a few years earlier in 1995, a talented team of technology professionals in London formed a company, Kinetic Information System Services, and created a unique technology platform that quickly became the world’s most widely used index calculation technology. Mergent acquired Kinetic in 2006, setting the stage for the birth of a truly unique, global index services provider.

Indxis is a fusion of these two distinct parts of the index world—offering a complete index services platform that’s powered by superior technology, deep industry experience, creativity and a commitment to innovation.
